Monitoring the RV Solar Power Inverter setup

RV Solar Q&A #4 – Bring your own components and DIY

In this episode of RV Solar Q&A with Marvin Braun we ask the question of whether or not Precision RV will install components you bought online. Also, what do we think of helping with your DIY RV Solar project.

The short answer to both questions is no, that’s not how we operate. Precision RV builds RV Solar power systems from the ground up. We plan and design your system, order components from manufacturers we trust and have worked with for years, and then install the system for you. Mixing and matching different components can lead to a world of headaches, and we want you to enjoy your RV solar power system, not struggle with it.

We’re often contacted by potential customers who are buying their RV solar components online for the cheapest deals possible.  They get one type of solar controller, another type of battery management system, the wrong gauge of wiring, etc.  And we’re asked to assemble a mix and match set of equipment.  Due to our interest in being one of the best RV solar businesses out there, we can’t install a hodgepodge of components.  Our experience in RV solar leads us to work with certain manufacturers in order to deliver you one of the best custom solar systems you can ever get for your RV.

And on DIY Solar systems? We’ve been asked time and again by people who contact us if they can help do the work with us, or they’ve already installed some components and want us to help with others. Precision RV takes responsibility for your solar system, and our work. If we work on a half completed system and it has issues, who is responsible for it? The easiest was to avoid such issues is to have Precision RV plan your whole system, acquire components we know are reliable, and do a full install for your RV Solar Power.

Put another way, have you ever tried to get your auto service center to install parts you bought at Autozone?  Vehicle service centers don’t allow customers into the garage area to help with your vehicle repairs.  They also don’t let you bring in the parts needed for the repairs.  They resell parts that they know will work best with your vehicle.  Precision RV operates in the same manner.  We know what works from start to finish, and you’re coming to us for our expertise with RV solar power, battery plants, and a complete solar system for your recreational vehicle.

We hope you enjoy episode 4, and Marvin’s answers for your questions.
